Happy Monday people! Today I want to tell you about an exciting way you can make a difference…in our travel fund!

We’ve decided to do one more fundraiser for a few reasons. The first one being – travel is turning out to be a little bit more expensive that we initially budgeted for. Thanks to the families who have traveled before us, we’ve been able to gather information about travel and we’ve used this information to change our plans a little bit. These new plans will make our stay much more comfortable and help with the transition with the kids, I believe, but they are also a little more expensive. The second reason is  – well, we’ve got the time! Since there is virtually no way we’ll be traveling in July we figured we should use this month to make one more fundraising push to help prepare for when we actually DO get to go . And the third reason is – this fundraiser will help us as well as help others!

So, for the month of July we will be selling beautiful handmade jewelry to help raise a little more money for our travel expenses. We are partnering with A Fair World and the women of Uganda to bring you some beautiful necklaces and bracelets. A Fair World is a Fair Trade organization which provides the Ugandan artisans a Fair Trade living wage for their work. The jewelry that you can purchase from us has already been purchased from the women of Uganda through Fair Trade standards and that money will help them raise themselves and their families out of poverty and into a better quality of life.

We also still have some of our t-shirts left available for purchase and, in an effort to get rid of them ASAP, we are lowering the price to $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Right now the leftovers are sitting in a pile on top my sweet [G]‘s bed and that just won’t do since hopefully she’ll need it soon! So, if you missed the t-shirt boat the first time around, feel free to hop aboard now. And don’t forget your adoption wristband!
