FedEx Friday!

Well, I got a happy visit from the FedEx man this morning! For once, I was more excited than the dogs to hear the doorbell ring. :) Because the FedEx man, bless him and his little navy shorts, brought [L]‘s and my visas!

One more check on what has turned out to be a really loooooong list. Next up, [A] and [G]‘s visas! Then we are outta here!

  1. Yaaaay! How long did it take? Did you overnight them? I am considering just going to the [Home Country] embassy in Tokyo myself since FEDex’ing things here is $100 each way.

    • We overnighted them last Wednesday and included another overnight pre-paid envelope. So not including Labor Day, it took 5 business days to process. Wow! $100 each way, that’s a lot of $$$. Sounds like a trip to Tokyo might be a better option and, I’m assuming, more fun?!? :)

      • I don’t guess you have to overnight them, of course, but we felt very uncomfortable with the idea of our passports and yellow fever cards floating around in the mail system for too long.

        • Well, acutally $100 each way isn’t even over nighting them, it usually takes 3-5 days. I could use military mail for express which would only be $20 but the military loses my Pottery Barn order, no way would I trust them with our most important documents lol. I figure I can take a free military flight to Tokyo and do it all in person.

So excited for the both of you getting ready to travel!

  2. We were away for a few days and I just read your updates and great news this morning! We’re so excited for all 4 of you and can’t wait to say “BON VOYAGE!”
